Well, that’s it. The boys are on a break.
(DVD EXTRA: I named this one “StupidBoys”)
Dean pulls into Burkitsville and ALMOST calls Sam.
(Who are those contacts?)
But he’s too stubborn to do it.
He decides to just get started on the job instead.
He approaches the first townie he sees (Scotty) and introduces himself as John Bonham, but Scotty recognizes that name as the drummer from Led Zeppelin. For more gifs of this scene click here.
Dean shows him pictures of Holly & Vince, claiming they are friends of his and telling him they disappeared about a year ago. Scotty says he’s never seen them.
GRUMPY CAT!
We get a brief glimpse of what Sam is doing. Which is finding a girl hitchhiking in the middle of nowhere and flirting with her.
Back at the stepford village, Dean finds Harley and Stacy.
However, when Emily comes downstairs, she asks if the guy had a tattoo and she says she remembers them. Harley has to fess up then, but says they just stopped for a few minutes and he directed them back to the interstate.
While Dean is driving along the EMF reader starts going nuts in his bag.
(Whatever, like I wasn’t going to gif that face)
He gets out of the car to investigate. He finds the scarecrow.
He decides to get a closer look.
Dean drives back into town and spends some time talking to Emily. She tells him her aunt and uncle took her in after her parents died in a car accident.
(I can’t get over how nervous Dean seems. Is it because Sam isn’t with him?)
She says everyone in town is nice. She gushes about how great everything is and how it seems like the town is ‘blessed.’
He asks if she has seen the scarecrow out at the orchard. Emily admits that it creeps her out and says it has always been there.
Dean sees a car in the garage and asks if it is her aunt and uncle’s but it turns out it is a couple…with car trouble.
